Music
Kimmerjae’s songwriting compulsion began in 1971 on the day she learned her first 3 chords on her grandfather’s Sears guitar. She was16 years old.
The social aspect of sharing songs and the shorter time frame of writing music have been a consistent companion to the lengthy solo endeavor of sculpting stones.
As in committing to a sculptural idea, what calls her to follow an idea in song is the sense of creating something true, universal, and fun to be discovered.
Her upcoming music tour is planned for July 2026, which will accompany a search for the stone that will invite her next extended sculptural conversation.

Review of Air Kisses by Bill Brovold
Kimmerjae Macarus Has released a new album called "Air Kisses". This is what we need. New music that is beautiful, unique and yet there are moments when you hear musical and poetic history in it. The variety of instruments from the amazing acoustic guitar fitting in perfectly with Kimmer's beautiful alto voice and the electric guitar work of Khabu Doug Young, bass of Kent McLagan plus the breath driven instruments of Dexter Payne, and more. Every song has a feeling like it was written and performed by folks that really paid attention to what was going on around them. It brings to mind some of the best British folk rock (think Pentangle and Fairport Convention) and is still very American and yet doesn't sound like anyone I could think of, except Kimmer. Every song takes me somewhere new. Little musical vacations. They all remind me of someone I have known or still know. Still this is a completely unique group of songs with masterful instrumentation, but never overbearing, beautiful singing combined with the songwriting of someone that has lived and is still living an amazing life and paying attention to it.
